History of the MRC

The Montessori Research Collective is a collaborative network of researchers focused on Montessori education. Originally named the Montessori Research Working Group, it began convening annually at retreats in 2015 (except during the COVID-19 pandemic), thanks to the leadership of Dr. Angela Murray, members of the AMS Research Committee, Nancy Lindeman, and the generosity of funders such as Sorenson Legacy Foundation, Brady Education Foundation, and Wend Collective. In 2024, the group underwent strategic planning and reorganized as the Montessori Research Collective.

The group has been instrumental in several key achievements, including:
